Gateway LT3119u 11.6-Inch Netbook (NightSky Black)
VERY UNHAPPY WITH (SELLER) CHEETAH DEALS! Computer was supposed to come with 2GB of RAM (originally from manufacturer) and showed up here with 513MB installed in it! BARELY enough to even run the basic windows 7 operating system! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?? Nice QC Cheetah.....especially on a refurb?? c'mon guys. When I called to work this out with CHEETAH DEALS and figure out how to rectify this the guy said I could return it for a credit. Ok...seriously?? I offered the suggestion (not him) him to send me the RAM for it and he said he would. This was on a Friday. Wednesday comes and goes so I decide to call Cheetah and check on the shipment and they said that it did not even go out and they did not have one for me. This made me VERY unhappy! The woman said she would do some checking and get back to me within the hour. No call back. So I called again. They said that the package would be shipped out that day and that she would call me back with the tracking number. Again...no call back...I left it go a few days (since it was over the weekend of the fourth of July Holiday. It was indeed shipped, but to the wrong address. I finally did get the RAM and had to install it myself. I would definately be reluctant to purchase from them again. Felt like they tried rip me off and I caught them. Everything is as I'd originally
expected of the unit and it is a great product. I read in a review that it is not a netbook but a mini laptop. This is indeed a very accurate statement. My only complaint is that the batery sticks out the back quite far and takes away from the unit being more compact. It also serves as the back of the base that the unit sits on. Poor design since the battery is not super snug and tight the way I'd prefer. I had to use a high quality (3M) two sided tape to literally attach the battery to the case of the netbook to get it good and firm and fixed the way I'd like. Great job on this product Gateway but poor job on Cheetah Deals part with the servie refurb. Awesome deal though and in the end I have what I wanted. Love the Gateway's though. Nice quality product.
